The NFL has built itself on a foundation of scandalous calls. In December of 1972, there was a rule that two offensive players could not touch a pass in succession. However, this rule was blatantly ignored in the Steelers/Raiders playoff game. (The rule was changed in 1978).

At the Pittsburgh airport, you can see a statue to this travesty of justice.
